WHAT IS A BRAND?
A brand can take many forms, including a name, sign, symbol, color combination or slogan. The word branding began simply as a way to tell one person's cattle from another by means of a hot iron stamp. A legally protected brand name is called a trademark. The word brand has continued to evolve to encompass identity - it affects the personality of a product, company or service.
Mike Thomas, former marketing/sponsorship director at the USCA Convocation Center, has been recognized nationally for his marketing concepts and planning. He won the National Direct Marketing Education Foundation Championship and two Gold Addy Awards from the Augusta Advertising Federation. Mike is a member of the Augusta Ad Club, and an Ambassador of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce and Business Networking International. Mike has a Bachelor’s Degree in advertising from the University of South Carolina, and he is known for his entrepreneurial mindset as creator of the nationally syndicated Teen Forum multi-media talk show.
